'Sacked' Real Madrid Chief Assures He Acted For Calderón

Ramón Calderón might have thought that by dismissing members of staff at Real Madrid the problem of the 'rigged' Assembly would disappear, but that is proving not to be the case.

In fact, one of the men 'dismissed' yesterday, Mariano Rodríguez, 'Nanín', has spoken out less than a day after the incident, first and foremost, claiming that he was not sacked, but he resigned.

Marca reports that Nanín claims he resigned at two o'clock yesterday afternoon and did not face any disciplinary action from the club.

More worryingly, for Calderón at least, are some of the other claims made by Nanín.

The president attempted to shift the blame for the 'non-members' present at the Assembly by stating that: "Nanín was the one who introduced some friends." The accused has denied these claims while he also assured that he never acted alone, and always did so with the control of the president, Calderón.

Narín also brought forward another important detail; that the president had his own sister present at the Assembly. Unfortunately for Calderón, this was a glaring error as she is not a member of the club.

Following the story from Marca this morning, which explained that Calderón did, in fact, know some of the 'non-members' present at the Assembly, this will only serve further to destabilise matters at the rocking Spanish club.
