Atlético de Madrid have joined the race to sign Loïc Rémy from Nice as they continue planning for next season and are considering making an official enquiry in the next few weeks, according to a report.
The 22-year-old forward has been dubbed the new Thierry Henry after some impressive performances both at club and international level and he has attracted a lot of interest, El Mundo Deportivo state.
Following a loan spell at Lens, Rémy moved to Nice in the summer from Olympique Lyonnais and included in his contract was a clause that gives l'OL first option to buy him back.
Newcastle United and Fiorentina are said to have had him watched, while Sevilla are also keeping tabs on the player as they have enjoyed success in uncovering gems in the French league in recent seasons.
While no fee has been mentioned, Atlético are said to be ready to spend around €10 million to secure his services in the summer and could go higher if they are pulled into a bidding race.
Rémy featured for France in the Under-21 tournament in Toulon in 2007 and has since been rewarded with an appearance for the French B side.
Many have tipped the exciting forward to step up to the national first team soon as well as to move to one of France's or Europe's more illustrious clubs in the future.
