Lyon Want Oliveira To Replace Fred - Report

Olympique Lyonnais are keen to sign Ricardo Oliveira from Real Zaragoza as they want him to replace Fred during the winter transfer window and the player likes the idea.

The French outfit have agreed to let their Brazilian striker go and have pinpointed the player that they want to bolster their squad, according to reports in France.

Oliveira joined Zaragoza last summer when the club made his loan from AC Milan permanent by paying around €10 million, despite the fact that they were relegated to the second division.

It was expected that the former Real Betis goalscorer would go out on loan while Los Maños spent a year in la Segunda A, but he did not agree a deal and thus stayed.

Now Lyon are hopeful that they can persuade Zaragoza to cash in and accept less than half of Oliveira's €30m buy-out clause when they make their move this week.

"For the time being nothing will happen, but as for tomorrow, I do not know," the player's agent, Augusto Castro, told reporters.
