Nedved To Join Third Division Club?

Pavel Nedved's future at Juventus is looking increasingly uncertain, but his playing days could go on as Lega Pro Prima Divisione (Italy's third division) side SS Virtus Lanciano have offered the former Lazio man the chance to play on.

The club, who are based in the small town of Lanciano near Chieti in the Abruzzo region are flying high in their league, and they want the experience to help push with their aims of promotion into the higher divisions.

Lanciano president Valentina Maio has opened the door to Nedved as she tries to tempt him with her charms, rather than a mega wage deal.

"If Nedved wants to retire from the big stage then he will be welcome here at Lanciano," said the chief.

"He is an important player and he has the qualities to play on for longer like Paolo Maldini."

Nedved could take up the offer as his deal with Juve expires in June and the club have not moved in fast enough to offer him an extension. Reports have suggested a pay-as-you-play deal, but the midfielder's agent declared he would not accept it.
