Eidur Gudjohnsen does not want to leave Barcelona amid reports that Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing him - and the Catalan club want him to stay, his father and agent has stated.
The Icelandic international was said to be a target for his former Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce, who is now in charge at Ewood Park and could see him as a replacement for Roque Santa Cruz, should the Peruvian leave.
But Gudjohnsen's dad and agent, Arnor, has stated that not only has his son been told by Barça that he is needed for the entire season, but also he has heard nothing from Blackburn.
“No, there is nothing, he is not going anywhere, 100 percent," he told Setanta Sports.
“[Barcelona coach Pep] Guardiola said at the start of the summer that he wants to keep him for the whole season, so he is at least staying until the summer.
“In the summer he has one year left on his contract, then we will see what happens, but I think he would like to play his contract out in Barcelona.
“There has always been interest from different clubs, but you know, nothing that he has even looked at or thought about.
“I have to be honest with you, I have not heard from Blackburn. There is nothing going on.”
