Enzo Maresca has been plying his trade in La Liga since 2005, when he left Fiorentina for Sevilla.
But his adventure in Spain could be drawing to a close, after he expressed his desire to return to the peninsula on Monday.
“I have extended my contract with Sevilla until 2011, but I would love to return after four years and play for an ambitious side,” he said while attending a fashion event in Milan.
It has been suggested that Genoa and Napoli might be keen on landing the former Juventus midfield man, but his agent Candido Fortunato has insisted there is no truth in these reports.
“What Maresca said in Milan was just hypothetical,” he told Ilsussidiario.net . “After spending four years away from Italy, it is only normal to feel nostalgic.
“There is nothing concrete with Genoa and Napoli at the moment; it is just paper talk. He simply answered a question.
“Enzo will certainly stay put in January, I don’t know what will happen in the future…”
