No Eto'o Rift With Guardiola - Begiristain

Txiki Begiristain has dismissed stories of a rift between Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola and Samuel Eto'o after the striker was told to leave training on Tuesday this week.

The bust-up happened in a session that was held behind closed doors, but journalists found about the incident and reported that there had been an argument between the pair.

But Eto'o was back in training the day after and the club's technical secretary believes that there was nothing serious about the affair and it should not have attracted any attention.

"It is a story that has happened and finished. One must think about the team and the squad, not about Samu or Pep," Sport quote Begiristain as saying.

"The way things happened should be good for the team."

Barça's assistant head coach Tito Vilanova agreed and stated that Eto'o had not been affected by the incident and had a great relationship with Guardiola.

"Nothing really happened. We are delighted with Samuel. These are things that happen in training and the next day Eto'o was very happy and trained well," he added.

The Cameroonian international was not named in the Barcelona team that played Espanyol in the Copa del Rey in midweek, but many first team regulars were rested too.
