Valladolid have been through a bit of a rocky patch recently and it looks as though things could get worse for them, with Sergio Asenjo looking likely to leave the club.
The highly-rated Spaniard has been linked with moves to Atlético Madrid, Villarreal and Barcelona, and his agent confirmed contact with the latter of those clubs today.
Speaking to El Mundo Deportivo , Fernando Redondo confirmed that he has been in touch with Barcelona chief, Txiki Begiristain.
"We have spoken, it was an exchange of thoughts," he mused.
Redondo indicated that Barcelona are trying to find out more information before they embark on any deal, that is likely to be expensive.
There is no doubt that even though Barcelona have three goalkeepers in Víctor Valdés, José Pinto and Albert Jorquera, they could be on the look out for another, with the latter two not regarded too highly.
For that reason a young replacement like Asenjo would be perfect, and even though Redondo did not say much more to the newspaper, he did reveal the day before that his player could leave.
Speaking to Ona Fm about the player, who is currently injured and will be for a few months, he said that there is a, 'high possibility that he will leave.'
