Milan Have The Highest Serie A Attendances; Juventus Amongst The Lowest

Milan have the highest gate attendances for Serie A matches according to a new study which has been released by the Italian football league.

The number of fans who attend matches in Serie A has seen an overall increase compared to the same period last year. The average attendances for matches last year was 24,470 per game. The figure now stands at 24,895.

The centre for studies of the Italian football league have also released figures which see Milan as the league leaders in terms of gate receipts.

The Rossoneri attract an average home crowd of 60,067 with Inter in second place. The Nerazzurri have far less though with 51,637 fans per game. Roma are third. Luciano Spalletti's men bring in 41,225 while Lazio attract 36,407. Serie A's surprise team Napoli can count on the support of 38,658.

Juventus are amongst the lowest ranked teams as the average attendance at the Stadio Olimpico has been a very poor 22,251. However, it has to be noted that Juve's stadium has a maximum capacity of 25,000 fans, where as the other grounds have between 70,000 and 90,000 capacities.

Siena are bottom of the fan table with only 10,630 fans turning up for their games on average.
