Yesterday we asked whether or not Real Madrid should elect Florentino Perez as club president this summer.
It would signal a remarkable comeback for the architect of the Galactico era - one who at the time seemed to be somewhat discredited.
Despite his chequered past, it seems that Goal.com readers would love to see him return to the Santiago Bernabeu. The results of the vote for his comeback:
Yes: 71%
No: 29%
We also took this issue to our Real Madrid forums to gather some more opinions and ideas.

"I guess Perez would be a good choice if he brings Zizou as a Sporting Manager or as a youth team coach and bring the best staff there with football sense. We all know the mistakes that he made during the Galactico, fired del Bosque, sold Makelele and bought Becks(won nothing with Real Madrid just La Liga in 2006-07). Or better yet would be a president with football background or a Real Madrid legend."
But 'blanco10' argued:
"Everybody associates Florentino Perez with the Galacticos era, well I have my own opinion on that, from what I remember "Los Galacticos" accolade was given by the media and for the team this was more of a curse than a bless anyway while the media put pressure on the team,me and many fans saw the best team in the world playing a wonderful game, how can everybody remember only that Claude Makelele was sold and that for Vicente del Bosque the standards were set too high for anyone to acomplish.I won't argue that this wasn't the wrong thing but I will argue that when Florentino Perez was president I saw a dream come true and I think that it was also the presidents dream to see a team that brought joy in every supporters heart.Santiago Bernabeu was a man with a dream,he put the foundation to the greatest football club in the world. It's very hard if not impossible to do something as genial and beautiful like Santiago Bernabeu did. When I associate the names of Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane one thing comes in my mind...Santiago Bernabeu and Alfredo di Stefano.Hala Madrid!!!"
'punkfusion1992' could not have disagreed more:
"He is incompetent, a narcissist, egotistic loser who caused one of the biggest problems in our clubs history. Calderon did a great job. He erased most of those memories. He brought team work and titles. Since he was succeeding in the title department, Marca and Fiorentino Perez couldnt stand it. Perez is behind all this if u must know. Since he wanted to be president again he used Marca(his Buddies) to manipulate some load of **bleep** that he himself organised. So he is not at all honourable, Calderon is more honourable and was a million times the better president. Perez is a coward and should never come back. Boluda is doing a good job. But I do sincierly hope that Manuel Sanchiz to become the president. He is a legend. He is the pre-form of Maldini at Madrid and will do a great job. He will bring the quinta back to madrid."
