Ferguson Blasts "Stupid" Tevez Talk, Real Madrid Rumours Persist

Manchester United are struggling to successfully negotiate a deal to permanently sign Carlos Tevez, which has led to streams of speculation he may move to Real Madrid this summer.

The Argentine forward signed for the Red Devils on a two-year loan deal from West Ham United - who had never in fact purchased the player's rights from MSI (Media Sports Investment).

As a result, Tevez will effectively be a free agent of sorts at the end of the season, as he has not yet signed a permanent deal at Old Trafford, which has long been seen as little more than a formality.

There have been rumours that Tevez has become unsettled at Old Trafford due to Sir Alex's reluctance to give him an extended run in the starting line-up this season, despite some match-winning performances.

However, the 24-year-old, whohas always publiclyunderlined his ambition to remain at the club, recently opened the door to a move to Real Madrid - United's bitter rivals from this summer's infamous Cristiano Ronaldo saga - and also emphasised his disappointment that he has not been able to secure his future at Old Trafford.

With no new deal yet forthcoming, Ferguson lost all patience in a press conference when questioned once more about Tevez's status. "I'm not going to comment on players' contracts - it's a private matter between the club and the player - I'm not getting into that at all. I'm fed up of having to answer stupid questions from you," he muttered.

"It is stupid because it goes on and on and on. Every week, you ask the same questions and you get the same answer. I'm not going to answer at all. I'm not going to talk about players' contracts with this club again - it's a private matter. When the player signs, we'll let you know."
