De Las Cuevas Keen On Champions League Glory

Cuevas has been out with injury and he endured two difficult seasons but now seems ready to return and is confident in his side's abilities for the coming season as the Rojiblancos return to Europe's big time.

“We are only thinking about the Champions League and we hope we can get through the preliminaries,” Cuevas told Marca.

“It has been difficult for me but I am working hard to get back into shape like the rest of my team mates.

“The players are all up for it and objectives are to finish in the top four in La Liga as well as achieve in the Coppa Del Rey.

“The key is to take things a step at a time and to get through to the group stages and then we will be able to see what we can achieve as time goes by.”

Atleti squeezed themselves into the Champions League places after enjoying a good season in La Liga and they will be hoping to go even further and improve this term as they challenge for major honours.
