Forln Dreaming Of Riquelme

The Uruguayan striker enjoyed great success alongside Riquelme during their joint spell at Villarreal and has now spoken of his desire to be reunited with the Argentina international.

"Who would not want to have Riquelme in his team? I hope the operation for Riquelme happens and he will be welcome. It would be very good for us, I know him, he is a friend of mine and a great player. He would be very helpful in such a competitive league," Forlán noted.

This could be more than a simple plea, though, as Forlán, apart from being friends with Riquelme, shares the same representative as the Boca Juniors star and is thus aware of his situation.

Forlán also spoke of Atlético's goals for the next season during the press conference at the hotel where the club are lodged in Mexico.

"One always has hopes of being champions, we know it will be very hard because the league will be very competitive with all the quality signings the clubs have been making," he concluded.
