The Yellow Submarines enjoyed an outstanding campaign last term and they were rewarded with a second place finish for their efforts.
Godin was influential to the cause and he is hoping his side can win some trophies as they continue to impress.
“I, as well as everyone else here, believe that we can win a trophy this season,” Godin told Marca.
“We have shown that Villarreal is a club enjoying rapid growth and we are doing great things.
“However, we need to win some trophies in order to prove it.
“I am looking forward to the new season but we know that it will be very difficult to try and repeat last term but we will try.
“I have always been happy here at Villarreal and I am looking forward to getting through pre-season and starting the new campaign soon.”
Villarreal reached the Champions League semi-final in 2006 before crashing out to Arsenal.
No doubt the Yellow Submarine will be hoping to go all the way to the Rome final this season.
