Getafe Confirm Soldado Arrival

It's as close to official as can be. Speaking to Cadena Ser radio, Torres stated that the young Spanish international will be a Getafense player tomorrow.

The striker will officially pen a four-year contract on Wednesday morning, becoming the eighth signing for the suburban club this summer.

Geta will pay an initial fee of around €4m, with a further €2m due based on various incentives and sell-on clauses. As yet no buy-back clause for Madrid has been mentioned.

The 22-year-old forward was said to be eager ot sign for Osasuna on a permanent basis, having enjoyed a fine season on loan there in 2006-07. However, Geta appear to have won the race for the player's signature.

A loan spell in Pamplona was said to be a possibility, but Soldado, having spent virtually al of last season as a benchwarmer at Madrid, seemed eager to seal a permanent contract elsewhere in order to secure a fresh start. The Valencian forward managed just one Liga first XI appearance last season.

Geta now have a balanced forward line, with Ikechucwu Uche, Manu del Moral and now Soldado serving as the three biggest names.

Soldado joins Esteban Granero, a loan signing from last season, in being a Madrid alumnus at the Alfonso Pérez.
