As rumours involving a move away from Sevilla began flaring up, Diego Capel has quickly extinguished the flames by insisting he wants to continue at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan instead of linkng up with his former manager.
The 20-year old Spaniard told the official Sevilla website: “At this moment I am a Sevilla footballer and this is what I want to carry on enjoying. It is my wish to be here for a long time. Because of this I will not listen to any offers from other sides that come in.”
Capel, who emerged as first choice left-winger after the tragic death of left-footed Antonio Puerta, is enthusiastic about the ambitions of his team, who finished 5th last season.
“The club has made some really good signings… the objective this year is qualification for the Champions League,” he said.
Sevilla have already snapped up Ivorian midfielder Romaric, Argentine Lautaro Acosta, defender Fernando Navarro, and winger Abdoulay Konko.
