Guardiola Expects More From Messi

The Argentine wizard scored a brilliant hat-trick against the Scottish side as his side strolled to an easy win.

However, for all Messi’s magic, Guardiola still believes the youngster can still improve his game and he has offered some advice in order to keep the pint-sized hit-man on his toes.

“It’s clear that make the difference but I want to create a cohesive team, I don’t believe football is about one player, but it is a team sport,” Guardiola told Sport.

“Messi plays well then the so does the team, I want to make sure that everyone makes a difference and that’s how we will win games.

“I want Messi to play in and around the penalty area as that is where he is most dangerous.

“The rest of the team needs to ensure he receives the ball near the box.”

The coach also had a few words on the game itself which, as the scoreline suggests, was pretty one sided.

“I am happy with the result but what’s important is that we were able to try out different tactical systems," said the coach.

“I am happy with the way we have been training and the results don’t surprise me because we have only played two games.

“It’s not normal to always win by a great margin and obviously things will get more difficult for us as we play more regularly.”
