Ramón Calderón might have been discussing the past as he spoke about his resignation this evening, but there were some words about the future, from his replacement, Vicente Boluda.
The new president, who received a hug from Calderón at the conference, confirmed that there will be elections held this summer, but that until then, he will attempt to rule in a, 'calm and confident climate.'
He also spoke about serving alongside the former president, and said he was 'proud' to have been part of the board of directors.
Boluda was officially vice-president of the club until today, but the Valencian businessman has now taken the helm at Real Madrid.
He asked for unity from everyone related to the club, before declaring that the Madrid teams need support.
"The football and basketball teams have immediate objectives of great importance, and they deserve us to be by their side," he told the press.
Boluda, who was elected unanimously, thanked Calderón for his words and his message of support, and declared he will give the job his 'full dedication', and that the position takes on a degree of, 'responsibility and obligation', that he couldn't reject.
