Torres Out For Up To Four Games

Torres was forced off the field early in Spain's World Cup qualifier against Belgium on Wednesday, and he is now set to miss the Reds' upcoming clashes against Wigan Athletic, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Portsmouth.

Ryan Babel was also injured while on duty with Holland, but the 21-year-old's ankle problem is less severe and he is still a remote possibility to feature against the Latics this weekend.

"A scan on Fernando Torres has shown a tear in his right hamstring which will sideline the player for between 10 and 15 days," Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton told the club's official website.

"Ryan Babel has sprained his left ankle and is a major doubt for Wigan on Saturday."

Rafael Benitez is livid that he will be without his most dangerous attacker during such a crucial period. David N'Gog and Dirk Kuyt are favourites to deputise up front, although Hungarian starlet Krisztian Nemeth could also be in the frame.
