Jiménez: Players Gave Their All

Sevilla have been one of the success stories of the season so far but against Málaga today they came up against a side in form and hungry for a result.

The Andalucian derby was decided by one goal from Adrián early on but despite losing Sevilla manager Manolo Jiménez wasn't too annoyed after the match.

"It was a bad result but one must respect the attitude and the fact that today it just didn't happen," he said, "Everyone that played in the week gave their all and we saw the tiredness. The players gave their all."

"Málaga have played a very ugly and very tactical game to beat us and that has cost us. In the end we have tried to do more than play it in the air. I hope cycles can be repeated like the one we have been on," he mused.

Sevilla have been hit hard by injury this season and even though Luis Fabiano and Javier Chevantón returned today they could not find a break through. The manager did not want to blame injuries for the loss though.

"To complain about injuries is of no use at all. We will use the first team, the B-side and look ahead. What has happened is that there have been players who have played many minutes and we have lacked a spark," he concluded.
