Emery: No Risks With Villa

The Spanish hit-man has made the squad despite having a sprained ankle. Emery is likely to make a last minute decision as to whether he plays the striker during the game.

However, he admits that it is not worth risking his star man anymore than necessary.

“Villa is an important player but we cannot take major risks,” said the coach.

“I have full confidence in him but I will not take any gambles. If he feels comfortable then he may play.

“We have to make the best out of what we have. Injuries happen in football and we have to deal with them.”

The Euro 2008 winner sprained his ankle against Maritimo Funchal of Madeira in the UEFA Cup on Thursday night.

Valencia are currently second in La Liga following a win and a draw and they will be hoping for more points when Osasuna wisit the Mestalla.
