Eliseu Delighted With 'Portuguese First'

Numancia and Sporting Gijón might have drawn most of the plaudits over the first couple of weeks in La Liga whilst Málaga struggled to pick up a point but now the island side are fighting back.

Antonio Tapia's side won their first match two weeks ago and then recorded a second straight victory as they thrashed Recreativo 4-0 this weekend away from home. Striker Eliseu, who scored two of the goals and set up another, said he was delighted to play like Portuguese player has done before in Spain.

"Never has a Portuguese player had a game like this in Spain," he gushed, "I am very happy and very pleased because we are working hard and little by little we are gaining the confidence necessary to win games."

The striker, who was bought in over the summer, scored twice and set up fellow countryman Duda for one too and he said he is already looking forward to the next match against Getafe.

"This victory is good if we then go to win at home and the game against Getafe is there to win," he concluded.
