Player Ratings: Shakhtar 1-2 Barcelona

Shakhtar

Pyatov 5 - A clanger in the closing moment cost his side victory after what was a confident display from the home team's custodian

Srna 6 - May not have been the best of Shakhtar's defenders, but the full-back impressed when he needed to and was also capable of playing man instead of ball.

Shevchuk 7 - His long balls from the back could have been the undoing of Barcelona and was also impressive when pressing forward.

Ischenko 7 - Ensured that neither Henry nor Eto'o scored and could have done nothing about the equaliser when it did come.

Chygrynskiy 6.5 - Like his partner at the back the defender looked strong and capable of keeping the Blaugrana's striker at bay all evening.

Hübschman 7 - Another strong presence in the centre and he led by example organising those around him when Barça went forward.

Duljaj 7 - Never stopped working and closed down Barcelona as Shakhtar played the perfect tactics to stop their visitors from playing their passing game.

Fernandinho 6.5 - Was not quite as effective in the centre, but nevertheless can be proud on a day

Brandão 7.5 - A huge presence and however controversial he is, the Brazilian caused Barça so many problems with his pace and strength.

Ilsinho 7.5 - Took his goal very well and caused Puyol quite a few problems during the first half when Shakhtar broke away.

Luiz Adriano 6 - Set up the goal and involved himself, but did not test Valdés to the extent that he probably should have done.
