Sneijder Proud Of Little Rodney

The Netherlands are famous for producing some of the brightest pairs of brothers who are extremely talented at football; the Koemans, De Boers, the Kerkhofs, and most recently the Sneijders.

The trio of brothers, Jeffery, Wesley, and Rodney, have all passed through the youth ranks at Ajax, and the middle child is proud of this achievement. “My parents are very thrilled at having three kids who played football at Ajax, as am I,” began the Dutchman.

“Life in Madrid is similar to that of Amsterdam, in the sense that they are booth breeding grounds for youth products and live a culture of football.”

Although all three play in the same position, Sneijder spoke about their differences in style. “Jeffery is the most defensive, and he can use both legs,” he explained.

“Rodney, on the other hand, has the best technique of us and is the future; he always thought about football during his school days.”

The oldest of the brothers, Jeffery, had to hang his boots early in his career due to injury, leaving Sneijder with a sour taste in his mouth, “It’s an unfortunate event but we must accept it,” he sighed. The two brothers faced each other some years ago, and Sneijder recalled the memory with a smile on his face, “We thrashed them bad!” he said.

Then, the midfield maestro was asked about his little brother Rodney, and Sneijder was full of pride and admiration toward the young sensation. “Rodney will be the best of the three,” he boomed.

“He is very talented but needs to hold his head a little higher, he’s about to enter into the most important stage of his career.”

Sneijder would love to play alongside his brother in the future sometime.

“A dream come true,” he concluded.
