Llorente: We Suffered But It Ended Well

Villarreal were made to work hard against AaB Aalborg tonight but in the end the Spanish side came through thanks to three second half goals from striker Joseba Llorente.

The Spaniard came off the bench to grab a hat-trick and inspire his side to a deceiving 6-3 victory in El Madrigal on Tuesday night. Speaking after the game he recognised that his side had come through a difficult encounter.

"We have suffered a lot, it was a game which perhaps was a trap against a team that seems lower but it was shown that if you take anything for granted things can happen."

"It was not a good first half but in the end everything finished well," he said afterwards.

Llorente grabbed his hat-trick in just 17 minutes during an explosive second half which featured five goals in total, four of them to the home side and just one to the Danes.

The win means that Villarreal are still joint top of the group with Manchester United and a victory in their next match away in Denmark would secure qualification.
