Leo Franco: We Must Not Lose League Focus

Los Colchoneros were beaten in the closing moments of the local derby against Real Madrid on Saturday and could now lose touch with the top four and that worries the Argentinian keeper.

While the game against Liverpool is one that all Atlético's players and fans are relishing, Leo Franco is keen to ensure that the focus returns to the league straight afterwards.

"We have not had time to analyse this game, but we shall and now we have to start to focus on Liverpool," he said after the defeat to el Real.

"It is a great game, but we must not forget about the league because after this defeat the teams above us can move clear at the top.

"We have to continue to stay in and around the sides that will be up there at the end of the season."

Despite being beaten by an injury time penalty, Leo Franco thinks that Atlético showed the right commitment and spirit to have taken something from the match.

"Nobody can say anything bad about the team because the attitude was excellent. We worked very hard to keep it level and just when it seemed like we would earn a point they scored a second goal," he added.

"It was very important that we win the game, but one again Real Madrid have claimed the victory."
