Heralded as the natural successor to Iker Casillas it is no surprise that Sergio Asenjo is a highly sought after player especially bearing in mind the club he is at now.
Valladolid might have bought him up through the ranks but it is no surprise that they will not be able to hold onto him forever although today his agent, Fernando Redondo, assured that he would not be leaving in January.
"There is not a possibility that he will leave in January," he said, "Firstly because legally he cannot go to another Spanish club then and secondly, we have not looked at the legislation in other countries, since we have not seen any opportunity."
Redondo also insisted that the future of the player would be on hold until Christmas as that is when he will sit down to discuss a new contract with Valladolid.
"One must be relaxed and not go crazy, nor should they give him everything or else it will be too much pressure. There is no movement being arranged at the moment, for now we should worry more about the team," he mused.
