Player Ratings: Villarreal 4-4 Atlético de Madrid

VILLARREAL

Diego López 6 - Conceded two early goal but could not really be blamed for either and then only had one other shot through the game to cope with.

Javi Venta 5.5 - Any defence that concedes four has to be criticised and the lack of concentration at the back for Villarreal was to blame.

Godín 5 - Did not rise to meet the free-kick that earned Atlético a point after seeing his focus lapse early on when Atleti netted twice too.

Gonzalo 5.5 - Scored at one end and let his concentration slip at the other as Atlético came back to cap an incredible game.

Capdevila 6 - Did not move forward as much as he can do, but was not responsible for the goals that the team conceded as they came down the other side.

Senna 7 - A controlling influence in midfield who scored a slightly fortuitous goal, but one that he deserved for a good display.

Bruno 6 - Worked tirelessly in midfield and is an unsung influence in a Villarreal that enjoy playing attractive passing football.

Cazorla 7 - Did well to open up the Atleti defence for the fourth goal, but struggled to beat Pernía all night and was eventually replaced.

Pirès 8.5 - Instrumental in everything that Villarreal did, even when Atlético had all their players and received a standing ovation when being substituted,

Llorente 6.5 - Scored a good goal, but did not have the most effective game as his lack of movement meant that all the crosses were easily cleared.

Rossi 7.5 - Lively throughout and worked back well to help his side as well as taking his goal well in teh second half to put the result beyond doubt.
