Primera Liga round-up

Primera Liga round-up

Cristiano Ronaldo struck a last-gasp winner as nervy Real Madrid kept their

Primera Division hopes alive in dramatic fashion against Osasuna.

Ronaldo headed home his second goal of the game in the 89th minute as Madrid, who twice trailed to battling Osasuna, moved back to within a point of leaders Barcelona with three games remaining.

This was Madrid's 17th win in 18 league encounters at the Bernabeu this season, but they had to do it the hard way after Osasuna went ahead through first-half goals from Carlos Aranda and Krisztian Vadocz.

However, Manuel Pellegrini's men hit back both times through Ronaldo and

Marcelo to go into half-time at 2-2 and then, having rode their luck on occasion after the break, claimed the points when Ronaldo headed in his 22nd league goal of the season.

Sevilla boosted hopes of a return to the UEFA Champions League next season with a win over a weakened Atletico Madrid in a dress rehearsal for this month's Copa del Rey final.

Alvaro Negredo bagged a first-half brace from the penalty spot to seal victory for the Andalusians after Tiago had cancelled out Luis Fabiano's fifth-minute strike.

Sevilla took the lead following a bright start, when Luis Fabiano fired home from a corner after Atletico had failed to clear.

But Atletico came back and equalised virtually straight away as Sevilla's defence went to sleep and Tiago was left all alone to slot home from close range.

The game was still only seven minutes old and had already seen two goals, and the third was not long coming either. Crucially, it fell to Sevilla.

Juan Valera brought down Adriano in the box and Negredo made no mistake from the spot to restore the home side's lead.

Sevilla then went two up six minutes before half-time after Atletico gave away another penalty.

This time, Luis Perea brought down Luis Fabiano with a clumsy challenge and Negredo converted once more to give the Andalusians a two-goal advantage at the break.
