Chris Hughton has laughed off speculation linking defender Steven Taylor with a shock move to Barcelona.
Reports in Spain have suggested that the Catalan giants are keeping tabs on the Newcastle centre-half and are preparing a summer swoop.
It has been claimed that Barca are even prepared to hand over club captain Carles Puyol in exchange for 24-year-old Taylor.
However, with no contact made by those inside Camp Nou, Magpies boss Hughton is refusing to read too much into the reports.
He said: "I am sure Steven Taylor is quite pleased with that one - and if I was in his shoes, I think I would be quite pleased with that one as well.
"There's no truth in it, as far as we know. Any interest and speculation regarding any of our players is probably testament to the good season they have had.
"I don't expect or envisage anybody looking to leave this football club. They have worked very, very hard to get this football club back into the top division so they can be part of it, and that being the case, I certainly don't expect to see anybody wanting to go."
