Kaka hints at Mourinho welcome

Kaka hints at Mourinho welcome

Real Madrid star Kaka has indicated he would welcome the arrival of Jose Mourinho to the club after heaping praise on the Inter Milan boss.

Mourinho is on course to guide his team to a famous treble this season, having already taken the Coppa Italia and guiding his side within reach of Champions League glory and a second successive Serie A title.

Madrid, by contrast, have floundered badly and could be facing up to the unwelcome prospect of finishing the season without any silverware - despite lavish spending last summer on the likes of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Spanish giants were dumped out of the Champions League last 16 by Lyon and despite remaining in the La Liga title hunt ahead of the final round of matches, coach Manuel Pellegrini sees his position remain perilous.

That has led to talk of Mourinho making a move to the Bernabeu after the Portuguese tactician emerged as one of the favourites of president Florentino Perez to take over the reins, should Pellegrini receive the axe.

And as the Los Galacticos face up to seeing their 200m Euro investment return no silverware, Kaka revealed his belief that Mourinho is the man to turn their fortunes around.

The former AC Milan playmaker said at a press conference: "Mourinho is a great coach.

"He has won things everywhere he has been. But whether he comes (to Madrid) is down to the club."

The Brazilian stalwart offered support for his current manager - insisting 56-year-old Pellegrini had done well.

Kaka said: "He has done a great job but it is the club who will decide whether he stays or goes."

Kaka's time in Spain has been hampered by injury following his big-money move from Italy last summer and he feels the problems have dented the impact he has made.

Real shelled out Ј56m for the 28-year-old's services and the midfielder admitted he had endured a difficult time since joining the Primera Division side.

He added: "For me it has been a very difficult season, with many physical problems. I have not been able to compete the way I wanted to."
