Celtic assistant manager Johan Mjallby hopes the club retains Artur Boruc's services this summer after he was linked with Sevilla.
The Liga outfit have been tipped to make a Ј2million move for the Poland international, although Mjallby believes the club should retain the shot-stopper's services.
Boruc has been the club's main keeper this term, although ex-Dundee United man Lukasz Zaluska has also been given time between the sticks for the SPL giants.
Mjallby believes competition for places in goal is healthy and that losing Boruc would only mean the Parkhead club need to go out and find a top-class replacement.
Top class"We have two very good goalkeepers at this club but I would be disappointed to see Artur leave because he is a top class goalkeeper," explained Mjallby.
"He has been a fantastic asset over the years for Celtic. He has the attributes to play anywhere in this world, he's that good.
"I can't tell the board what to do, I'm not in a position to say too much about the wheeling and dealing but if Artur leaves you would need to go in for a very good goalkeeper."
Inexperience
Meanwhile, Mjallby feels the club's interim management team of himself and Neil Lennon might count against them when Tony Mowbray's long-term successor is named.
While Celtic overcame arch-rivals Rangers in midweek Mjallby insists their stunning Scottish Cup defeat to Ross County still hurts the fledgling managerial duo.
When asked if inexperience may go against him and Lennon when it comes to the board making their decision, he responded: "I would say yes, because if you finish with eight straight wins and you can see team is working a wee bit harder for each other and doing better than before we came in, you have to say that inexperience is the only thing that should cost us the job.
"I would be disappointed but we understand that there is always going to be cries for more experience and we haven't got it.
"We still have to live with the disappointment of losing to Ross County, it still hurts.
"But we have done our best and if we can end with eight straight wins I will be happy anyway. The confidence is there now and the quality is shining through.
"Defensively we have looked stronger, despite injuries, and we are always going to be a threat going forward.
"I have worked my socks off trying to do the best I can and it's been a great experience and whatever happens I will be happy with my short time here."
