Agent - No Rafa bids

Agent - No Rafa bids

Rafa Benitez's agent says there have been no offers for the Spaniard's services from other clubs, while insisting his client wants to stay at Liverpool.

The Anfield boss has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus this summer, while Real Madrid are also thought to be interested.

But Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon said on Tuesday that his client wants to stay at Anfield, where he is under contract until June 2014.

He said: "We have not received any offers from any club.

Aim

"Benitez's aim is to remain at Liverpool and try to help the team improve with new owners.

"He is under contract and his wish is to remain at Liverpool."

Quilon's insistence comes as Benitez has a meeting scheduled with new Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton this week to discuss the plans being put in place for next season.

The Reds' American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have brought in Broughton, the chairman of British Airways, to oversee the sale of the club.

Benitez has been under pressure after a poor season in which the Reds missed out on qualifying for the UEFA Champions League knock-out phases, as well as next year's competition for the first time in recent history.

If Benitez was to seek a new challenge, Juventus are thought to have lined up the Spaniard as their No.1 candidate to succeed coach Alberto Zaccheroni in Turin this summer.
