Jose Mourinho is to speak with Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti in the next 24 hours.
The Portuguese tactician is expected to officially inform Moratti of his intention to join Real Madrid after a remarkable campaign with Inter.
Inter overcame Bayern Munich on Saturday to win the UEFA Champions League, while they also claimed a domestic double in Italy.
Mourinho admitted after the Champions League final that he had probably been involved in his last game with Inter, and he is now poised to hold talks with Real.
But the former Chelsea manager will first meet with Moratti to pave the way for his appointment at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mourinho's spokesman Eladio Parames confirmed to the Italian media: "Yes, they (Mourinho and Moratti) will meet in Milan.
"If not in the next few hours, then tomorrow."
Moratti appears resigned to losing Mourinho, telling the club's official website : "There's always hope but we have to respect the wish of a person who already thinks his task has already expired."
