Jose no closer to Real deal

Jose Mourinho's move to Real Madrid is 'not even close' to being settled, according to Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti.

Spanish media have suggested that the Portuguese manager's switch could be wrapped up in a matter of hours, but Moratti has offered a different opinion.

When asked if everything was on course with Real for Mourinho's transfer, Moratti insisted negotiations had not even begun.

"No. Not even close, actually quite the opposite," Moratti told Inter's official website .

"We haven't even started (to discuss it).

"We will need a bit more time."

Treble

Mourinho, whose Inter contract runs until June 2012, guided the Nerazzurri to a record treble this season with Coppa Italia, Serie A and UEFA Champions League glory.

The former Chelsea coach does have a get-out clause in his deal which he could put into effect provided a €16million (Ј13.7m) is paid to the Italian club.

Mourinho announced he was departing Inter the week of the Champions League final against Bayern Munich, which the Nerazzurri won 2-0, and Moratti admits he was initially annoyed by his timing.

"I don't feel fooled," said Moratti. "The annoyance was overcome as Mourinho's concentration remained the same and he achieved all the aims that he had to achieve.

"But the annoying part comes now, with the damage of having to find someone new."

Dutchman Guus Hiddink has been strongly linked with a move to the San Siro, while England boss Fabio Capello has also been rumoured as a contender to take the Inter reins.
