Poll Results: Readers Point Podolski To Roma

Yesterday we asked you to vote on where Lukas Podolski should go next in what has been a mixed career for the German international.

Speculation has linked 'Poldi' with moves to AS Roma and Fiorentina in Italy, and Real Madrid in Spain. These, coupled with the recent declarations from the man himself that he should never have signed for Bayern Munich, have left many feeling that he'll move on soon.

Should he do so then Goal.com readers have left him in no doubt as to the best idea. Almost two fifths of those who voted said that AS Roma should be his first choice. It seems that here he'd be all but guaranteed first team football, and Luciano Spalletti could mould him into a top-class Italian striker. 37% feel this way.

In second place, with 28%, was Real Madrid. The blancos didn't win the poll probably due to the fact that he'd be forced to compete with Ruud van Nistelrooy and Raúl, but a trip to the Spanish capital nonetheless was a popular option.

17% felt that a different club was a good idea. Be it 1. FC Köln, the side with whom he made his name, or one of many big-spending English Premier League outfits, almost a fifth of voters feel that the world is Poldi's oyster.

Just over a tenth, or 12%, of voters said that he should stay at Bayern München and fight for a first team place, rather than back out when the going gets tough.

Finally just 6% argued that Fiorentina was his best option, probably due to the Adrian Mutu/Alberto Gilardino paradigm that dominates the Viola's front line.

Be sure to vote in today's poll, or why not make your voice heard about Poldi? The voting's still open, after all!
