Acuña Close To Madrid Move

Real Madrid might have stopped doing business for the summer but it is thought that Real Madrid Castilla, the B side effectively, are close to bringing in a new signing to cover for the early season injury of Francisco.

Javier Acuña, currently a Cádiz player, came to the club two years ago for €800,000 but it is believed that he has not improved as expected and is now up for sale.

For this reason it seems odd that he would now move up to the heights of Real Madrid Castilla but the capital club are thought to have written to Cádiz asking to sign him and have put forward an offer for €400,000.

The Segunda División B side are reported to be holding out for at least €600,000 though and then with the proceeds will bring in Gustavo López, who impressed last season but is now without a club.

Real Madrid Castilla are notorious for producing quality players but recently they have seen many of their products move away from the capital to find success, such as Álvaro Negredo with Almería and Mata with Valencia.
