Poll Results: Madrid Need A Striker

Yesterday we asked readers to vote on which position Real Madrid needed to strengthen in the winter transfer window.

It has long since been said by many that another striker is required at the Bernabéu, and indeed that was the most popular option: no less than 35.71% voted this way. Among the names mentioned were Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Karim Benzema, and Lukas Podolski.

A close second, though, was the idea that the blancos required a winger. Such a theory has been put forward by none other than Arjen Robben, and supported to some extent by coach Bernd Schuster. 34.69% agreed with this assessment, and the likes of Joaquín, Aaron Lennon, Joe Cole, Bastian Schweinsteiger and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo were mooted.

Other options were far less popular. 11.22% wanted an attacking midfielder, while 8.16% said that another centre-back was required.

Bringing up the rear, 4.08% wanted a new left-back, while 3.06% wanted either a right-back or a defensive midfielder.

The poll is still open: you can click here to vote. Remember, though, to look out for a new poll every single weekday here on Goal.com.
