Considering the rather turbulent summer that has just taken place at Valencia it is refreshing to see that they have emerged from it looking better, better than last season at least.
Los Che currently sit top of La Liga, alebit after only three rounds of matches, and despite facing a newly promoted Málaga side this Thursday their manager Unai Emery does not expect their performance levels to drop.
"I will fight so that the team does not drop their guard, we must have the winning mentality," he roared, "Málaga will not be easy, they will be motivated by their fans and will press."
"We will go with maximum respect to them and their coach and we know that they will have a good game plan for us," he explained.
Valencia play this match just four days after their their last league victory over Osasuna and Emery says that although conditions for rest are not ideal he is not complaining.
"With the short time we cannot play in our best condition but it is good to maintain a constant motivation and it is the same for our opponents," he mused.
It is expected that the manager will be making some changes for the match, bearing in mind Valencia play again on Sunday night. However, despite rumours that David Albelda could make a long awaited return to the midfield the manager would only say that 'the team will not be the same eleven that played on Sunday.'
