Alves: Guardiola Motivates Us

The Brazilian is one of the few FCB first teamers not currently away on international duty, giving him ample time to speak to the media.

Speaking to Channel Cuatro today, he touched on the influence of coach Guardiola over the team.

He said, "Our coach motivates us, and another plus point is that he's a person who's achieved great things with a club as big as Barça."

Looking at his teammates, he spoke out over Iniesta, saying, "When I played against him at Sevilla it was always very difficult, so now I'm pleased that we're on the same side.

"And Lionel Messi? He's just fantastic."

In closing he remarked on two of his countrymen who have moved in high-profile transfers this summer.

"Robinho's a player who's achieved a lot. He was displeased with Madrid; to play football one should be happy, so he's happy now," he said.

"Ronaldinho? He is a god of football."
