Mancini Wins Serie A Coach Of The Year Award

Mancio led the Nerazzurri to their third straight Scudetto last season and he has been rewarded for his efforts.

The coach scooped the award for his hard work and dedication at San Siro.

Inter almost threw away the title, but the former Lazio striker ensured it remained in Milan on the final day of the season.

The ex-Inter man has now dedicated his achievement to those still at the club.

"I won this award thanks to the players," Mancini is quoted as saying by Sky Sport Italia.

It's the first time the coach has won the prize. Fiorentina tactician Cesare Prandelli took it last season.

Mancini is now hoping he wins another bench award as Spanish giants Real Madrid are apparently keen on employing him to replace Bernd Schuster.

The German has not been living up to the required standard and his time at the Bernabeu is running out.

The Italian coach is the bookmakers favourite to replace him.
