The Rojiblancos were rampant today, comfortably defeating Lotina's side by four goals to one in a distinctly one-sided contest, and the former Espanyol and Real Sociedad coach was not impressed by the way his players conceded defeat so easily.
"We cannot say many positive things today. Atletico won well, they played with intensity and we played like we did not have to win here. Atletico played at a faster rate and we made too many mistakes," he said.
Lotina continue to vent his frustration, "We were a little soft. The aggressiveness of Atletico has got the better of us. They have played with a completely different rhythm and they got goals in key moments of the match."
But Lotina seemed able to pinpoint where things had gone wrong, and hinted that his players would not lie down like that again.
"We are going to fix things. We will talk with the players - there is a difference between aggresive and nasty. They know they have made alot of mistakes, but they have shown an ability to learn from these errors," he concluded.
Next up for Deportivo La Coruna is Athletic Bilbao at the Riazor next weekend.
