Sergio Kresic watched as his side failed to score away from home, and it is now only one win from their last seven games, a statistic that is worrying the coach more and more.
Athletic Bilbao beat them 2-0 thanks to a double from Fernando Llorente, and although they were well beaten, Kresic's side missed a number of decent opportunties themselves.
The coach told journalists afterwards, "There were a few cases where we had a chance in front of goal. When the score was 1-0 we pushed forward but left spaces at the back. We just lacked finishing."
The result took Joaquin Caparros' men out of the bottom three and as a result put Numancia down to 18th place, right in the centre of the relegation battle, with just eleven points so far this season.
Kresic went on to say he side "struggled, as always", and he also took time to prasie the architect of Numancia's downfall, newly capped Spanish frontman Llorente.
Speaking about the striker, he said, "He was in the perfect place in those two situations. He had two opportunities, and he took them. On the other hand, we had many chances and we could not take them. We didn't deserve any more than zero points."
Numancia's next outing in the Primera Division is against Almeria next Sunday afternoon.
