Viola calm on Vargas link

Viola calm on Vargas link

Fiorentina are unconcerned after Real Madrid were linked with Peru international defender Juan Manuel Vargas.

The Liga giants are being strongly tipped to move for the 26-year-old, but Viola insist he is going nowhere.

Sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is not reading much into the speculation and has confirmed they will only let unhappy players depart.

Vargas, who is described as the new Roberto Carlos, is a key player in Cesare Prandelli's squad following his €12million move from Catania.

Rumours

"I have heard these rumours regarding Real Madrid's reported interest in Vargas and we acknowledge it and move on," said Corvino.

"We are used to having players being linked to clubs. But we are here not to sell but to keep our players and improve our squad.

"We will only sell those who don't want to remain at the club and in that case, we will try to get the best possible deal."
