Messi worry for Barca

Messi worry for Barca

Lionel Messi is a major injury worry for Barcelona ahead of their games with Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

Argentine ace Messi limped off during the second half of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao with a thigh problem in his left leg and he will undergo tests to determine the extent of the injury.

Barca will be keeping their fingers crossed as they face Inter Milan in a crucial UEFA Champions League fixture in midweek before hosting bitter rivals Real Madrid at Camp Nou next weekend.

Barca coach Pep Guardiola admitted it was a blow to see Messi pick up an injury.

"The initial feelings are not too good to be honest," said Guardiola. "I'm sure that he feels sad, nobody likes to be injured."

Barcelona defender Dani Alves admits it would be a major blow to lose Messi ahead of such a crucial week.

"It's bad news because he is an important piece for us, although we must wait to know the extent of the injury," noted Alves.
