Sevilla defender Julien Escude will be out of action for at least two weeks after suffering a broken nose.
Escude had an operation on the injury after he clashed with a France team-mate during their controversial World Cup qualifying game against the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday.
Despite undergoing surgery, there is no exact date set for Escude's return, and the facial injury could rule him out of a number of games.
He will almost certainly miss Sevilla's next two Primera Liga fixtures against Tenerife and Malaga, as well as the trip to Unirea Urziceni in the UEFA Champions League.
Escude may return on December 6 when the Andalusian side host Valladolid in the Primera Division.
