Silva facing month out

Silva facing month out

Valencia midfielder David Silva is set to be sidelined for the rest of 2009 after suffering a knee injury.

The Spain international picked up the problem in the first half of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Real Mallorca and had to be replaced immediately.

Scans have now confirmed that the injury is not as serious as first feared but will keep him out of action for around a month.

Silva will therefore miss several big games for his club in December including Europa League matches against French side Lille on Wednesday and Italy's Genoa on 17th December.

He will also sit out a number of domestic clashes and is unlikely to return before the Primera Division takes a break on 20th December.
