Brazilians eye Keirrison bid

Brazilians eye Keirrison bid

Santos' new president has confirmed his interest in taking Keirrison back to Brazil.

The former Corritiba and Palmeiras star joined Barcelona in the summer in a Ј10million plus deal.

The 21-year-old immediately loaned to Portuguese giants Benfica - but thinks have not gone according to plan at the Estadio da Luz.

Javier Saviola and Oscar Cardozo's partnership has meant Keirrison has been stuck on the bench for most of the season.

Now Barcelona are not happy that one of their brightest prospects is not seeing action and could be ready to recall him with a view to loaning him back to a side in Brazil.

Vasco da Gama have been linked, but Santos have not firmly confirmed their interest in taking him.

Jose Paulo Fernandes - who takes over as Santos president later in December - is looking to make an impact and hopes Keirrison could be brought in.

"Keirrison is on loan at Benfica, but he is not being used in Portugal, and it is clear we would be interested," he told Globosporte .

"But we can not forget that he is in Europe and is very expensive and is not something simple."
