Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita is facing three weeks out after picking up a thigh injury.
The 29-year-old Mali international suffered the problem in Barca's 2-1 win over Estudiantes in the Fifa Club World Cup final on Saturday.
Keita was forced to come off at half time and was replaced by Pedro in the game against the Argentine side.
Tests on Sunday showed that the former Sevilla and Lens tough-tackler ruptured a muscle during the first half and will now face a spell on the sidelines.
However, club doctors believe he will be fit for Mali when they take part in the African Cup of Nations in January.
