Juan Manuel Vargas has distanced himself from reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
The Fiorentina winger is believed to be on Real's radar ahead of the January transfer window, with the Spaniards preparing a big-money approach.
The Peru international has seen his profile rise considerably over recent years, with a move to Florence from Catania in 2008 providing him with a grander stage on which to display his talents.
Vargas insists he is not actively seeking a New Year switch, and is instead fully focused on life in Italy, but has hinted that he could be tempted by a fresh challenge in the future.
"I don't like to look too far ahead," the 26-year-old told La Nazione .
"I prefer to live day by day and for now that means, at this moment, there is only Fiorentina.
"I want to grow up here, I want to help push the team to the top and then maybe in June or in a few years' time we'll see."
He added: "Real Madrid? That is just a rumour. It is not the time to start talking about the future."
